As we start the final week of July trading the bulls will be looking to continue the rally which has taken the DOW back above the 9000 level. I must admit I am surprised the markets have been able to rally on the earnings numbers that have been released so far during this earnings season.

This is reporting season again. And almost without exception the companies are reporting very weak earnings but also without exception they are beating the revised estimates. And the market is responding by continuing the uptrend. Yesterday the DOW closed 8915.

The Asian markets continued their slide in trading today with both the Heng Seng and Nikkei losing over 2.5%. The precious metals are following the markets with gold currently off $2.90 at $910.10 and silver down .09 to $12.56.
